Noorazmir bin Zakaria was called to the Malaysian Bar in May 2007, marking the beginning of a successful legal career. A graduate from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Noorazmir started his legal journey as a Legal Associate at Messrs Sabri Ahmad & Co., where he handled a wide range of civil cases.
In 2011, driven by his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for the law, Noorazmir founded his own legal practice, Messrs Khadijah & Associates. This move allowed him to establish a strong reputation as a highly skilled litigator, particularly in the area of defamation law. He became widely recognized by his peers for his ability to secure injunctions and prohibitory orders for clients in defamation cases, solidifying his status as an expert in this niche area.
Noorazmir is also a passionate human rights advocate. He is committed to representing a diverse range of clients, from public figures, VIPs, and politicians to ordinary citizens, ensuring their rights are upheld under the law. His dedication to protecting fundamental human rights led him to take on significant cases, including his notable representation of the Kampung Chubadak community, who were facing the threat of forced demolition of their homes.
His expertise extends beyond civil litigation to the political realm, where he has advised political parties and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on issues such as election rules, regulations, and constitutional law. His active engagement in the local political scene further underscores his comprehensive understanding of Malaysia’s legal and political landscapes.
In April 2016, Noorazmir joined Akram Hizri Azad & Azmir as a Partner, where he took charge of the firm’s Civil Litigation and Shariah Department.
His wealth of experience, combined with his determination to take on complex legal challenges, has contributed significantly to the firm’s growth and success. Noorazmir also oversees the firm’s Northern Region office in Kedah, ensuring that clients in the region receive the highest standard of legal services.
Additionally, Noorazmir was admitted as a Syarie counsel for the Federal Territories of Malaysia in December 2017 as well as in Selangor and Kedah in the following years, expanding his practice to include Shariah law matters and offering a broader range of legal services to clients in need.
