Ayu Pertiwi binti Hussain

Senior Associate
LL.B (Hons) UKM

Ayu Pertiwi binti Hussain holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), which she completed in 2006. She began her legal career in Kota Bharu, Kelantan in May 2007, where she initially gained valuable experience as a litigation lawyer.

Ayu’s career in litigation saw her handling a wide variety of contentious cases, including motor vehicle accidents, landlord-tenant disputes, and personal injury claims. With her natural ability to mediate, Ayu often successfully facilitated amicable resolutions between parties, achieving favorable outcomes without the need for prolonged court proceedings. Her expertise in insurance and personal injury claims further expanded when she took on the role of Legal Executive at Kurnia Insurans (M) Berhad, a leading insurance company in Klang Valley. This experience enriched her understanding of the insurance and takaful industry and provided her with valuable in-house counsel experience.

After her tenure in the insurance sector, Ayu returned to private legal practice, where she transitioned to conveyancing law. She began focusing on a range of legal services, including sale and purchase agreements, tenancy agreements, and loan documentation for both conventional and Islamic financing facilities.

In 2016, Ayu joined Akram Hizri Azad & Azmir as a Senior Associate and currently heads the firm’s Conveyancing Department. She specializes in drafting legal documentation for various transactions and plays a critical role in assisting clients with complex matters such as rectification of instruments related to the development of waqaf land and applications for replacement of missing titles at the relevant land offices. Ayu is also involved in preparing documentation related to family deeds of arrangement, as well as wills and probate matters, offering her clients holistic legal services that meet their needs in both property and personal affairs.
